Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Marrakech - High Atlas - Ait Benhaddou - Boumalne Dades

Our team picks you up at 07:30 AM at your Marrakech Riad. We depart over the winding roads of the High Atlas Mountains. Tizi n'Tichka pass offers gorgeous backdrops for photos of local stone villages. We stop for a guided exploration of Ait Benhaddou, the magnificent 11th-century clay fortress. After lunch, we pass through Ouarzazate and drive down the Rose Valley to Dades Valley, checking into Riad Gabsi Du Dades, where dinner and breakfast are served.

Day 2

Boumalne Dades - Todra Gorges - Erfoud - Merzouga Dunes (Erg Chebbi)

Enjoy breakfast, then drive to the nearby Todra Gorges. We take a guided walk along the shallow riverbed canyon, with orange rock faces looming 300m above us. We head east past palm fields to Erfoud. Late afternoon, we reach Merzouga, where our camel caravan is waiting. We trek over the sands of Erg Chebbi during sunset. Arrive at Merzouga Glamping for a hot dinner, campfire Berber music, and overnight in private tents.

Day 3

Merzouga Dunes - Ziz Valley - Midelt - Ifrane Cedar Forest - Ifrane - Fes

Rise early to experience a magical Saharan sunrise. After camels carry us back to Merzouga for breakfast, we board our comfortable 7-seater vehicle. We drive north, admiring the huge palm tree formations of the Ziz Valley gorge. We climb the Middle Atlas Mountains and break for lunch in Midelt. In the afternoon, we enter the famous Cedar Forest of Ifrane, where we halt to watch and feed friendly wild Barbary macaque monkeys. We pass through the Swiss-like alpine town of Ifrane, arriving in Fes by approximately 06:30 PM. Dropoff is arranged at Fes Medina.
